Spain really aren’t creating genius brains

Yesterday afternoon I assisted to the event, Dia de l’Emprenedor that has been celebrated in the “Palau de Congresos de Barcelona” by Barcelona Activa, where our known Enrique Dans, have talked in a conference titled “Internet tendencies and business ideas”. Carlos Blanco, has been in the event too, and he have made a brief resume of the day, so people like you or I, can have an idea of the content.

I have could have the chance of listen for first time a great innovating brain, Tom Kelly of Ideo, a great design firm that have designed products like the Mac mouse of Apple. Using a humorous an interesting comments, this conference of 120 minutes of long, that seems that only has lasted some minutes, it have talked about subjects like the roles that you need for innovate in your new products and he has defended the enthusiastic innovation, the main key for succeed with your new ideas.

After listen the conference, I arrived to a conclusion of several reflections. Now, you are living a new step in the growth of Spain in the innovation subject, but really we don’t are enough for impulse a country like this. The way of think here, isn’t the same like in other countries, for example USA, United Kingdom and Finland. The major part of our society are happy living with his mortgages and his work of little risk. Nowadays, if you want succeed as a great entrepreneur, you need take a lot of risks.

Whit this lines, I don’t want say that there aren’t entrepreneurs in Spain, because many people of this event are entrepreneurs, but that I want say that there aren’t enough entrepreneurs for can grow with major intensity. It’s clear that our govern really are doing the things of the correct way and they aren’t promoting the creation of new firms. What can we do now? I don’t know exactly. I have seen and increase of the entrepreneur community in these last days, but many of them come from other countries. Is this fact, a multicultural society, that it can do that the spanish society learn something about our stranger brothers and get succeed in our own country.

I want comment that I have be able to meet Didac Lee, a great catalan entrepreneur that have “impresionado”, that at this moment have companies like Respaldum (a system for make online backups), Spamina (a group of solutions for combat you spam) and Intercom Gi (an Internet “consultoria”). In addition, I want “mencionar” to my friend Toni Mascaró (of eMascaró CrossMedia), that have show to our Migoa team, the great community of entrepreneurs that we have in Barcelona.
